| NC’s mass contact programme from Dec 1 | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Nov 3 The National Conference has decided to launch mass contact programme in the Jammu province from December 1. According to the Provincial President, Ajay Sadhotra, NC Chief, Omar Abdullah, will initiate the mass contact programme from either Bani or Billawar in Kathus. In reply to a question Sadhotra said that the mass contact programme will cover all the 37 Assembly constituencies. In reply to another question the NC provincial President said that “till date we have decided to contest the next election alone. At present there is no possibility of having some electoral understanding with the Congress.”Mr Sadhotra ridiculed the BJP plan of laying emphasis on training its polling agents saying “it is too early to start appointing polling agents. We do not know whether the poll will be preponed or held as per the schedule.” He said the BJP had nothing to sell and as such was trying to create an impression on its preparedness for contesting the poll. He said that since the performance of the coalition Government has been disastrous in all sectors it would definitely help the National Conference on the plea that no other organization, except the NC, had firm roots in the state which could pose a threat to the Congress and the PDP.He claimed that the NC would perform far better in the next poll that it did in 2002.”We expect the NC to get absolute majority and the ant incumbency factor will favour us.” |
