Three militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Baramulla district today, a defence spokesman said.
Acting on a tip off, troops of 29 Rashitrya Rifles cordoned of the village Nilah, three-km from Pattan, on Srinagar- Baramulla highway and launched a search operation in the wee hours, he said, adding during which militants opened fire on the troops.
In a retaliatory fire, three militants were killed.
The search operation was still on when last reports were received, the spokesman said. |
