| Zargar presides over 20th Regional Committee Meet of ICAR | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Nov 3 Minister for Agriculture, Mr. Abdul Zargar has under lined the need to develop cost effective improved techniques for small and marginal farmers of hilly states of the country. This was stated by the minister while presiding over 2-days 20th Regional Committee Meeting of Indian Council of Agriculture Research(ICAR) convened to discuss sharing research in the field of agriculture, horticulture and animal husbandry and fisheries for mutual benefit, held at YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry Nauni, Himachal Pradesh Mr. Zargar said the ICAR should monitor projects given to state agriculture universities of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradash and Uttrakhand, so that techniques developed are disseminated to end users. He said more efforts should be made for conservation of biodiversity available in hilly states. Besides 130 scientist of leading agriculture universities, the conference was attended by the Minister for Agriculture, Govt of Uttrakhand, Mr. Trivander Singh Rawat, Director General Indian Council for Agriculture Research(ICAR), Mr. Mangla Rai and Vice Chancellors of Agriculture Universities of J&K, HP and Uttrakhand |
