Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls has been started in district Udhampur from November 1, 2007 in pursuant to the orders of Election Commission of India.
According to the District Election Officer, Udhampur, O.P. Kalandria, those persons who have completed 18 years of age on or before 1-1-2008 could enroll their names in the Electoral Rolls from 1-11-2007 to 30-11-2007. Necessary forms for inclusion, deletion or correction in names can be obtained from the office of Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, Udhampur, Tehsildars of Udhampur, Chenani, Ramnagar and Majalta free of cost during office hours till November 30, 2007. Forms can also be had from Booth Level Officer of concerned polling station. Photocopies of forms are also accepted.
For inclusion of name in the voter list, the individual has to fill in Form No.6 with photocopy of proof of age and residence while Form No.7 is required for deletion of the name. For correction in name, fill in Form No.8 and for change in address in the same constituency, fill in form 8-A. from Nov.1 to Nov.30, 2007.
Voter lists are open for inspection at designated polling stations and Post offices as well.
