| Emergency in Pakistan unfortunate: Farooq | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Nov 4 Describing the imposition of emergency in Pakistan as ''very unfortunate'', former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah today expressed the hope that democracy would soon be restored in the neighbouring country. Talking to the mediapersons in a brief interaction at an annual function of a local school here, Dr Abdullah observed that a democratic Pakistan was in the interest of India as it would help resolve outstanding issues between the two countries. ''Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf might be knowing the conditions which prevailed in Islamabad and the extent of turmoil the country was facing that led to the imposition of emergency,'' the National Conference chief patron said. |
