| Hindi play ‘Chote Bade’ staged | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Nov 4 Natrang’s weekly programme of ‘Sunday Theatre’ today featured a Hindi Play ‘Chote Bade’ written by Mani Madhukar and directed by Anil Tickoo. The play “Chote Bade” depicts the story of two unemployed youth, their aspirations and frustrations. Rejected by the system, both have chosen the illegal ways of survival. Living in fool’s paradise at one time they find more comfort but gradually they realize of befooling themselves. The whole lawlessness, sense of insecurity, crime, scams, and deteriorating quality of life is attributed to the failure of democratic institutions in the country. The play Wright has tried to expose the system in which there is no alternative left with the youth today to channelize their creative abilities in an environment where mediocrity is promoted at the cost of excellence. They find that corrupt politicians and people in power have eaten up the vital of the society and the talented aspiring youth of the day are left to be either a part of the corrupt system or to frusture. The play is big satire on today’s politicians who are responsible for the poor state of affairs in India and aspires and shakes the youth to fight it out and save the nation from the clutches of these vultures. Deepak Virdi an upcoming actor of Natrang demonstrated maturity and excellence in his performance as Bade whereas Pawan Verma compliment his performance and supplemented the impact of theatre through his superb performance. The light and sound was designed by the director Anil Tickoo which were ably executed by Rohit Verma and Gaurav Jamwal. Sets were designed by Deepak Virdi and executed by Ankush Lakhnotra Neeraj Kant coordinated the production and its performance. |
