| Rise in prices of commodities flayed | | | Early Times Reporter Poonch | Nov 4 District President J&K National Conference women Wing District Poonch – Nirmal Sharma addressed a public meeting at Jhulas in Poonch Assembly Constituency the other day. Addressing the largely attended meeting, District President Women Wing expressed serious concern over the steep rise in prices of essential commodities and shortage of drinking water and food grains. She said that the present coalition government ahs turned a blind eye towards the miseries of the common people and especially people of far flung areas. The Government has utterly failed to check the rising prices, she added. National Conference Women Wing leader lambasted the coalition government over its failure to provide relief to the victims who have suffered badly due to recent floods. She said that despite several request the government is least bothered. She alleged that people residing just near the border areas have not been included in the BPL list prepared by the government. She demanded immediate inclusion of all those names which have not been incorporated in the BPL list. She further demanded that government should provide an Ambulance for the health centre and adequate ration and drinking water in the far flung areas. She called upon the women folk to come forward and join hands together and strengthen the party and its leadership. Among others who addressed the public meeting on the occasion included Bayant Kour, councilor, Sharda Sharma, Ajaz Ahmed Jan , Provincial Secretary YNC, Mansoof Khan and others. |
