| Charak for early completion of pending road projects | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Nov 4 To take stock of various works being done by the R&B Department, Minister for R&B, Gulchain Singh Charak inaugurate reconstruction/improvement work of road from Bari-Brahmana to Bishnah Arnia. This 18 km road was blacktopped under RIDF-XII (NABARD) at an estimated cost of Rs 346.58 lakh. At Bari-Brahmana, the Minister also inspected blacktopping of Baba Farid Nagar road and directed the concerned engineers to start the work. A deputation from Bari-Brahmana met the Minister and discussed the matter of National Highway and demanded to open some gates from both side of the road for the convenience of general masses. He also inaugurated the work of blacktopping of Kool Kalan, Arnia-Bishnah road. Addressing a public meeting at Vajreu Chak, Charak said that the government has started macro and micro projects in the state to uplift the socio-economic conditions of the people especially those living in backward and hilly areas of the state. He said that road projects are in the pipeline of the government and as soon as these are cleared the work would be taken up immediately so that the benefit percolate to the grass root levels. He asked the engineers to complete these works within targetted time and use only quality material for the durability of the structures. Charak said that it is the endeavor of Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad to get sufficient funds released from the center for the socio-economic transformation of the people of the state and we have to utilize every penny judiciously and to the best benefit of the people. He advised the engineers and officers to support each other for speedy development. Charak said the government is determined to provide a clean, responsive and good administration to people and for the purpose various steps have been taken. He said that any engineer or contractor is found unpunctual, careless or corrupt would not be spared. However, honest and performing functionaries would be encouraged at all levels. He also visited Radha Soami Sant Rasilaa Ram Ashram at Sarore and congratulated Sant Rasilaa Ram on his 87th birth anniversary. The Sant also presented Saropa to the Minister. On being informed about the poor condition of Sarore-Bishnah-Arnia road, Charak asked the engineers to prepare an estimate so that the repair work on this road could be started. Later, the Minister also visit Civil Secretariat, Jammu to review the overall repair and renovation work for reopening of offices. Among others, Chief Engineer R&B, SE, PWD, Executive Engineers and Sarpanchs and Panchs and other senior engineers were also present on the occasion. |
