| LANCER CEDIA: THE NEW RALLY KING | | | New Delhi, Monday, August 21, 2006: The Lancer Cedia has won the Indian Rally Championship K1000 circuit held at Bangalore recently. The Lancer Cedia made its debut at the Championship on a winning note by defeating its closest competitor by a comfortable 52 seconds margin. This is the first time in the history of the championship that a debutant vehicle went on to win the championship.
The rally witnessed a participation of 48 rallyists from across the country. The Lancer Cedia was sported by Gaurav Singh Gill along with co-driver Farooq Ahmed, members of the JK Tyre team. Team JK Tyre expressed delight over Cedia's performance and the support that they received from Hindustan Motors during the event.
Commenting on the occasion the victorious driver, Gaurav Singh said, " The Cedia has proven its excellence over international rally circuits the world over and has yet again lived up to its reputation". He further added " The superior power of the Lancer has been the key reason for its selection for the Team JK Tyre at the championship".
The Lancer Cedia is put through extensive tests such as subjecting the vehicle through grueling Stone Paved Circuit Tracks for thousands of laps along with a grueling test of endurance on Indian roads. Such tests ensure the winning performance of the Cedia at platforms like the Indian National Rally Championship.
Speaking about the rally JK Tyre team head Mr. Sanjay said, " Lancer Cedia's winning performance at the championship once again establishes the Cedia as the leader in its class". He also said that. " The Lancer Cedia signifies rally proven toughness, excellent drivability, great ride comfort along with latest technological advancements". |
