| Aero sports base station in offing | | | Early Times Reporter

The Chairman of LAHDC, Haji Asgar Ali Karbalaie laid foundation stone of Base Station for Aero Sports I and II today near Airport here.
These Aero sports Base stations I and II would be completed at a cost of Rs. 56.43 lacs and Rs. 28.31 lacs respectively by the Kargil Development Authority during next financial year.
The purpose for construction of Aero Sports base station I and II are to promote adventure sports like snow skiing, paragliding and River rafting for attraction of National and International adventure tourist. The Hill Counclil, Kargil has already been declared the area as snow Sky Spot.
Welcoming the CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Executive Councilors and a District officers, the Chief Executive officer, Kargil Development Authority, Mohd. Ali gave a brief resume of the activities of Kargil Development Authority.
While briefing the detail, the Executive Engineer, Kargil Development authority Mohd. Ali Khan said that Kargil Development authority came in existence in November, 2005. the Kargil Development Authority has submitted a project report to the tune of Rs. 15 crores to the Ministry of Tourism GOI through State Government out of which an amount of Rs. 7.29 crores have been sanctioned for eight numbers of works at Kargil, Drass, Panikhar, Rangdum, Wakha and Mulbekh. So far Rs. 293.36 lacs have got released for Kargil, Drass and Panikhar under destination development Scheme during the current fiscal. After completing the tendering process, the executions of works are full swing, he added.
The Function was attended by the Executive Councillors Nasir Hussain Munshi, Haji Mohd Ishaq Sonam Namgyal, Kachoo Gulzar Hussain Khan, Deputy Commissioner, Kargil RK Bhagat, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kargil Fida Hussain and heads of various departments. |
