Srinagar boy Miya Bashir today become the new junior snooker champion beating Muddasar Ashiq in a closely contested final played at Billiards Hall, M A Stadium, here.
Both played equally good game and brought the match down to seventh frame. However, Miya displayed some exceptional potting in the deciding seventh frame which provided him upper hand over his opponent, Muddasar who also belongs to Srinagar. Miya Bashir won the decider rather easily making it 52-5 on the scoreboard. The score: 40-62, 50-57, 74-47, 61-33, 40-46, 38-56, 52-5.
In the meantime, the first round of senior billiards competitions started today wherein Kuldeep Sharma, Jaideep Manocha and Vishal Abrol won their respective matches. The quarterfinal and semi-finals round of the senior billiards has been scheduled for tomorrow.
The detailed results: Kuldeep Sharma bt M N Khan 320-265; Jaideep Manocha bt Muddasar Ashiq 401-209; Vishal Abrol bt Sohail Khalid 430-210.
Meanwhile, the organizing secretary, Jaideep Manocha told SAN that the senior snooker final is scheduled for November 7 at 1 pm. In this title clash, Kamal Rohmetra will face Vishal Abrol. |
