| Militants issue posters in Bhaderwah | | Ask people to return their material or face death | | Govind Chouhan Jammu | Nov 5 As if rising from graves, militant groups HUJI and Harkat-ul-Mujahideen are attempting to reactivate themselves and have issued a poster war in Bhaderwah. The posters asking those in possession of material and cash ‘owned by the militant groups’ to return the same to them were suddenly seen pasted on the walls of Bhaderwah’s Jamia Masjid the gone-by Friday after the special weekly prayers. Even as anxiety spread among the masses after seeing the posters, the security forces acted aptly and removed the posters from the walls. According to the sources, five years back the two groups went into hibernation after receiving huge setback by the hands of security forces. The money and material that were already distributed to the OGWs in the area remained with the latter. And, now after passage of five years the same was being claimed by the terrorist groups through the posters. The posters ‘apparently’ from area HUJI commander Sarsa Kishtwari asked the masses to hand over the material and cash of the terrorists to the outfit’s representative who will knock the doors of the residents. These posters also threatened the people of losing their lives in case they fail to abide by the dictate. According to the reports, some people who spotted the posters last Friday informed the police, which in turn removed them from the Mosque walls and destroyed the same. Even as the posters appeared in the town after a gap of five years, sources informed, earlier such posters were used to propagate claims of terror attacks. Sources further informed that the two outfits were very active in the area about five years back and some local people who acted as over-ground-workers for them were in possession of the money and material believed to be belonging to these outfits. Sources added the persons referred to in these posters as those processing terrorist’s property also comprise of those who have shunned the terrorism but have with them the money or ammunition passed on to them by these groups. |
