| Do not earn bread today, there is a rally! | | | Ajay Meenia R.S.Pura | Nov 6 Political rallies seem to be more important than earning daily bread. No, there is no exaggeration in the statement. This was obvious from what happened today at RS Pura where the party known for ‘giving healing touch to the masses’ held a rally. It was forced bandh for the 30 odd shopkeepers who had their business establishments at the Bus Stand here during the ongoing festivity of the Deepawali; courtesy a pubic rally organized by the People Democratic Party here today It is to mention here that it was a usual routine that these shopkeepers were compelled to shutter down their trading establishments during the public rallies by VVIPs and VIPs in particular with a plea of security reasons. Rajesh Choudhary who runs a shop in this area of the Bus Stand a popular venue for the public rallies in R S Pura lamented that we were not expecting this forcible Bandh commonly reasoned as Security scenario for VVIPs as it was Deewali festivity but the concerned agencies including police forced us to close the shops today also. “While we were just to open the shops we were told to keep the shutters down until and unless the rally of former chief minister and patron PDP Mufti Mohammed Sayeed concludes, he rued. Another shopkeeper without disclosing his identity told the Early Times that while the Muftis are clamouring for the ‘healing touch’ to people of state and claim the situation is returning towards normalcy in the state on the other hand we are being forced to close our business establishment during their rallies. “All this is not only a problematic to people but also sans us from our daily livelihood during such rallies, he said. |
