| Chopper crashes, six pilgrims injured | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Nov 6 Six persons on board were injured when a private chopper made an emergency landing at Serli village, 3 km from Katra today. Informed sources told News Agency of Kashmir that the ill-fated chopper owned by Himalayan Aviations was on its way to Sanjichat from Katra when it developed a technical snag and had to make an emergency landing at Serli village, three kilometers from Katra. Additional SP Katra Ashok Sharma told News Agency of Kashmir that this afternoon the private chopper took off from Katra for Sanji Chat with six passengers on board. "However, air-borne the "Chetak" chopper developed a technical snag and the pilot had to make an emergency landing near a Gurduwara in Serli Village," he said, adding "the flying machine did not land properly and it tilted a little causing minor injuries to the passengers." "Captain RP Sharma was flying the chopper," he added. The Additional SP further told News Agency of Kashmir that soon after the incident a police party from Katra reached the spot and shifted the victims to Katra Hospital. Injured passengers have been identified as Atul, Megha, Shilal, Rashida and Rajni, all residents of New Delhi. However, the identity of the sixth passenger could not be known. When contacted, DIG Udhampur-Reasi range Alok Puri told News Agency of Kashmir that passengers survived with minor injuries but were under a state of shock.
