| Narrow escape for Vaishno Devi pilgrims | | | Early Times Reporter Katra | Nov 6 There was a narrow escape for the Himalayan Hill Service passengers who were on their way to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine for having Darshan today by helicopter. According to SDPO Katra, Jugal Sharma the helicopter took off for Sanjichat from Katra at about 1.05 pm and within the minutes Pilot of the chopper Capt, R.P Sharma noticed some technical fault and made an emergency landing near Gurudwara near Check Post. There were 6 passengers onboard on the fatal chopper. They included Atul S/o V.K Goel of Delhi, Ms Rajni D/o J.P Gupta of Delhi, Akash Gupta S/o Pawan Gupta of Delhi, Mega Goel W/o Atul Goel of Delhi, Ishita Goel D/o Atul Goel and Kishta Goel S/o Atul Goel. Deputy Chief Executive officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, R.B Seri, Block Medical Officer Katra, Naib Tehsildar, SHO Katra arrived at the spot immediately with rescue hospital staff and fire tender service teams. The passengers were shifted to Katra Hospital for treatment later on receiving complaints of backbone problem Rajni D/o J.P Gupta and Ms Mega Goel W/o Atul Goel were shifted to GMC Jammu. Assistant Commissioner Revenue Reasi Vikram Jamwal and Tehsildar Reasi Sanjay Badyal also visited Katra hospital and enquired well being of the pilgrims. |
