| Unemployment assuming alarming dimensions: Farooq | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Nov 7 Asserting that unemployment problem has assumed alarming dimensions, Former Chief Minister and National Conference Patron Dr Farooq Abdullah today said that unresponsive attitude of coalition government towards this burning issue has added to the woes of educated youth of the state. Speaking to media persons at the inaugural function of Mader-e-Meharban Park at Gujjar Nagar, Dr Abdullah said that coalition government has failed to frame a comprehensive policy to secure the future of educated un-employed youth by creating adequate employment avenues for them. Referring to the claims of coalition to encourage self employment, Dr Abdullah said that loose administration and absence of proper monitoring have badly hampered the implementation of these schemes on the ground. "There is lot of courage required for making promises and keeping them", he said while referring to the hollow promises made by the regime over these years. Dr Abdullah said his party has never attempted hoodwinking by making false promises with people and added "NC believes that the problem of unemployment could be solved only by chalking out a comprehensive policy for taping the existing potential in all sectors". Taking a dig on coalition government, Dr Abdullah said that Congress-PDP arrangement was making a fuss by echoing contradictory statements to befool the people. However the misdeeds of coalition partners have exposed the government and its functionaries before the general masses, he added. Earlier Dr Abdullah inaugurated a Park at Gujjar Nagar which was organized by Municipal Corporator Rashida Begum. |
