Early Times Reporter Jammu | Nov 7 A function was organized at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan by District President J&K National Conference District Kathua – Ajit Kumar in which Surjit Singh Jamwal along with his hundreds of supporters joined National Conference today under the patronage of Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Presidentship of Omar Abdullah. Addressing the function, Provincial President Jammu Province Ajay Sadhotra welcomed Surjit Singh Jamwal and his team into the party fold and expressed hope that their joining into the party will give fillip to the party activities. He asked the new entrants to work unitedly and make joint efforts with the local units to strengthen the party at its leadership. Provincial President said the kisans of the state especially that of Jammu region have been alienated by the government and they are facing lot of difficulties due to shortage of fertilizer and seed and moreover exorbitant rates of above said inputs are being charged in the market. He asked the government to make fertilizer available for the farmers and check the rise in prices of fertilizer and seed. Moreover, government should take effective measures to ensure quality of fertilizer and seed also. Among others who addressed the function included Rattan Lal Gupta, Sr. Vice President, Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Vice President, Kr. Rachpal Singh, MLA, Surjit Singh Slathia, former Minister, Ajit Kumar District President, K.K. Bakshi and others.
