| Dharmarth Trust to start vocational course for women, girls | | Invites applications from aspiring candidates | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Nov 7 Jammu and Kashmir Dharmarth Trust Council has invited applications for undergoing three months vocational diploma course for imparting training to women and girls in cutting, tailoring, knitting, krocia and embroidery works. The application forms can be had on nominal charges either from the central office of the Trust at Shalimar road Jammu or from Stri Udhyog Karyalaya office Purani Mandi during working hours from 10 am to 4 pm and the last date for submission of application forms duly filled in has been fixed by December 3, 2007. The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the members of the Stri Udhyog Karlayana held here today under the chairmanship of President Jammu and Kashmir Dharmarth Trust Th. Divakar Singh. The meeting among others was attended by Rama Malhotra, Lajjya Manhas, Swaran Jamwal, Urmil Arora, Brind Sharma, Shoba Rani and Kanchan Bala. Secretary Dharmarth Trust Vijay Gandotra was also present in the meeting, Darshan Kumar Sharma and Varinder Singh Jamwal. According to the Trust hand out the meeting decided that preference in the selection for undergoing the vocational course would be given to economically weaker students and the selected candidates will be admitted by charging a nominal fee of Rs.50 and the during the training period the selected candidates would be provided a stipend of Rs.200 per month. On the successful completion of training, the students will be given diploma while the efficient and meritorious students would be absorbed on the outlets of the Trust. The meeting also decided that superfine craft work prepared by the trained students of the Stri Udhyog Karyalana would be given preference in procurement of the prepared material for sale at the Trust outlets. Addressing the meeting, Diwakar Singh said people visiting Jammu have a craze for Jammu attires like Chooridar Pajama- Kurta and other fashionable clothes and the training course would go a long way in helping domestic women for supplementing earning for their small families. |
