A chowki officer managed to get prize posting merely by presenting a costly mobile phone to an influential officer working in the district SSPs office.
According to the sources, the chowki officer who wanted posting of his choice reportedly contacted this influential officer and offered a mobile phone costing between Rs.15,000 to Rs.20,000 for getting him posted at his choice. The sources further said that the concerned officer recommend the transfer of the chowki officer and got him posted according to his choice recently.
Sources further said the said junior officer was on an important post in the office and managed several transfers due to his close proximity with his seniors. Unaware of the background, the district police officer ordered his transfer and posted him to a new chowki which he had been cherishing for a long time and had made hectic efforts in the past also. Sources also added that the said junior rank officer asked his seniors that the said SI was his relative and had a track record and had remained posted at a particular chowki for several years and wanted a change.
This is not the first case of its kind, the sources said adding that the concerned officer in the past has also managed transfers of several police officials after charging huge amount and valuable household items. Sources said about five months back he got transferred an officer from the city in lieu of a washing machine. Sources revealed that since the said officer has remained posted at a particular place for the last couple of years has gained proximity with several senior police officers. The officer concerned manages transfers in such a way where no body gets suspicious, the sources added. |
