| Self style doctor held, spurious medicines recovered | | | Early Times Reporter

Nowabad police today arrested a self- styled doctor from the area and recovered large quantity of medicines from his possession when he was busy in selling medicines to the people of Jammu.
SSP Jammu, Parminder Singh, said today police received specific information that one self styled doctor was selling medicines illegally in the area, a police team led by SHO Nowabad Kulbir Handa swung into action and raided a shop at Sant Market Jewel Chowk and arrested one Lakhveer Singh son of Pritam Singh resident of Ludhiana and recovered large quantity of spurious drugs from his possession.
Reports said various complaints were pouring in at the police station that the said person is indulging in sale of spurious medicines to various persons assuring them that by taking his medicines the sex related problems can be cured effectively. He was also alluring different people that by taking his medicines the persons who are addicted to alcohol can leave the alcohol. Reports said during the raid , police has also recovered six bags full of medicines which were not having any trademark nor the subject was found in possession of any valid documents authorizing him to sell such medicines. Police has also registered a case under section 420/170 RPC, 27-A Drugs and Cosmetics Act and is investigating the matter. |
