| JKNPP asks Dir Adm to provide essential items to public | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Nov 7 JKNPP has urged the divisional administration to provide atta, sugar and LPG filled cylinders to the consumers on war footing as Diwali festival is approaching fast. They asked the administration to keep watch on traders as dept holders who ply in a statement issued here today vice-president P.K. Ganju and ms Anita Thakur general secretary JKNPP said that the public distribution affairs ministry is almost sleeping over the issue of non availability of sugar, atta, and rice on the depots even on the eve of festival days. They said LPG agencies are not providing filled cylinders to domestic users. The position of availability of levy sugar, rice, atta and fuel particularly kerosene oil in rural and semi urban areas is worst and poor public is forced to procure ration items from the black market and it appears that government is itself in hand and gloves with the black marketers. The rates of all items in the market have spirally gone up, which needs to be checked up immediately by the functionaries. Beside, police and narcotics departments should swung into action to nab the miscreants involved in selling and import of narcotics drugs. Panthers leaders demanded that the consumers should be provided sugar and extra gas cylinders immediately besides every sweet shop, fruit seller should be asked to put the rate lists prominently on their establishment to stop extra charges. |
