Bhatti urges for simplifying loaning procedure

While hailing the Congress leadership, especially Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi, for their vision on Jammu and Kashmir aiming at ensuring lasting peace not only in the state but in the entire sub-continent, the senior Congress leader and Chairman All India Mahatma Gandhi National Foundation, Z A Bhatti has expressed serious concern over the growing unemployment problem in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a public meeting at Narwal, here today, Bhatti said that the problem of unemployment can be only tackled by providing loans to the educated unemployment youth without any formality. He said that in view of the cumbersome procedure the educated youth are deprived of the loan facility to set up their own ventures and the need was to simply the same.
Bhatti called upon the government to launch a special recruitment drive for filling up all the vacant posts both in state and central government departments.
SVO produces challan against IWDP engineer
Jammu Nov-8 State Vigilance Organization has produced challan in the court of Special Judge Anti- Corruption against Ghulam Mohi-u-din Bhat, the then Junior Engineer Integrated Water Shed Development Project (IWDP) Hills-II Rambiara, Shopian, who was caught red handed while accepting bribe of Rs.7000 for release of payment to a contractor.
According to a spokesman of the VO, on May 16 last one Ghulam Hassan Sofi S/o Ali Mohd. Sofi R/o Rohmo Pulwama lodged a written complaint at P/S Vigilance Organization Kashmir alleging that an amount of Rs.54600 was held up in Jammu and Kashmir Bank Newa Pulwama against various IWDP related works executed by him in the area. Out of this amount he had been paid Rs.8000 only through a cheque while as the balance of Rs.46600 could not be en-cashed by him for want of certain correction in the cheque. The complainant approached Ghulam Mohi-u-din Bhat the then JE, for making correction in the cheque, who demanded Rs.7000 as illegal gratification for making necessary corrections in order to get his balance amount en-cashed.
The spokesman said that accordingly a case FIR No.32/2007 P/S VOK was registered and investigation taken up. In the course of investigation officials of SVO laid a successful trap during which the accused JE was caught red handed while accepting the bribe. The tainted money of Rs.7000 was recovered from his possession in presence of independent witnesses. After accord of sanction for prosecution by the Government,. the challan of the case was produced in the court of law.
