| CRPF man held for presenting forged cheques | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Nov 8 A paramilitary CRPF man was arrested for presenting and drawing an amount of Rs 1 lakh through forged cheques from Jammu and Kashmir Bank branch here, police sources today said. Police said the constable managed to get three cheques worth over Rs 1 lakh encashed from City Branch of Jammu and Kashmir Bank Ltd (JKB) from the account of a Government officer and was in the process of getting another cheque cashed when arrested. ''CRPF constable, identified as Harish Kumar hailing from Gujarat, presently posted in 68 battalion headquartered at Gangyal, was arrested by the police. On his disclosure, a raid was conducted at his residence and amount of Rs 1 lakh was recovered,'' police sources said. |
