| Azad wants parking zones on Jammu-Chatha highway | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Nov 10 Chief Minister,Ghulam Nabi Azad,today spent several hours in the outskirts of the city of temples for ensuring speedy execution of development projects.Accompanied by Mangat Ram Sharma,Health Minister,and Raman Bhalla,MLA,the Chief Minister drove to Chatha where he directed the concerned agencies to take up in hand early execution of the Rs.12-crore project for construction of a park at Bhor camp. The park is being laid on 600 kanal of land. The park will have a playfield, an amusement park for children and other facilities which could attract local tourists and those coming from outside the state.Chief Minister directed the Government agencies to hasten the pace of the work so that there was no eancrachment. He also was pained to see a large number of cars and trucks having been parked outside the residential houses on the Satwari-Chatha highway.He directed the Deputy Commissioner to acquire land on either side of the highway where parking zones could be set up. Mr Raman Bhalla said that the Chief Minister wanted the entire road right from Jammu city to R.S.Pora receiving a facelift so that in the event of opening of Suchetgarh-Sialkot route for traffic and trade visitors from across the border could enjoy driving on the 27km long route. Azad later visited the area near Bahu Plaza where the two banks of the nallah linking Gandhi Nagar with Trikuta Nagar were being developed into a park.He directed the concerned Government agencies to complete the project as early as possible so that people could use the parks for their evening on morning walks and for rest and recreation |
