| 3 militants, 4 army personnel killed in encounter | | | Early Times Reporter
Srinagar | Nov 9 Three militants and four army personnel, including an officer, have been killed in an encounter in Pattan area of Baramulla district, officials said today.
An army officer of 52 Rashtriya Rifles and a militant were killed this morning in the encounter which started since Tuesday evening.
However, the officer was killed by his own colleague by "mistake" during the encounter in the area, official sources said.
Two other militants and three army jawans were killed during heavy exchange of fire between the two sides on Wednesday.
Nearly a dozen security personnel were injured in the operation that lasted for about 60 hours. |
