| CIF organizes painting competition for ‘Ankur’ children | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Nov 10 As a part of Diwali celebrations, the Counter Insurgency Force (Uniform), organized a painting-cum song competitions at Sadbhavana Sadan Reasi for the children of ‘Ankur’ and trainees of ‘Shakti Sadan’. The theme for the painting competition, held under two different categories, was India ‘My Country and National Flag’. Individual and group song competitions were also held on the occasion. Seventy children both boys and girls participated in the competition. These competitions were part of the overall plan of Counter Insurgency Force (Uniform) to instill confidence, nurture talent and inculcate competitive spirit amongst children and trainees who till recently had been shattered by militancy. Speaking on the occasion, Maj Gen PC Panjikar, GOC Uniform Force, exhorted the children and trainees to develop their overall personality and become proud citizens of the country. Usha Panjikar, President Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA), Uniform Force distributed prizes to the winning participants. Sweets and other gifts were also distributed to children of ‘’Ankur’ and trainees of ‘Shakti Sadan’, who were visibly moved by the gesture. |
