| Charges framed against SICOP Engineer, two others | | | Early Times Reporter JAMMU | NOV 10 Special Judge Anti- Corruption, Jammu, Mr. Kartar Singh framed corruption charges against contractor Suresh Kumar, the then Estate Manager Rajesh Pandoh and the then Project Engineer YP Malhotra of SICOP u/s 5(2) PC Act 2006 r/w section 471/120-B RPC for hatching a criminal conspiracy with a view to obtain undue pecuniary advantage by getting and allotting the work pertaining to the construction of ITI building Udhampur on higher rates. According to the case, the contractor in furtherance of the case, manipulated three dasti quotations, of which two quotations allegedly submitted were false and fabricated as both the firms were non existent. By this, the work in question was allotted on higher rates than the rates paid by JKPCC for similar works and contractor obtained an amount of Rs 2, 81, 935 in excess for the work executed up to plinth level and similarly contractor also executed the work and obtained an amount of Rs 6, 07, 703 in excess. Court after framing the charges directed for trial of the case. |
