| Vishavakarma day celebrated with enthusiasm | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu, November 10 – Minister for Health and Medical Education Mangat Ram Sharma has greeted the workers of the state on the occasion of Vishavakarma Day being celebrated throughout the country today. Addressing well attended meetings of workers organized for celebration of the day at Sarwal, Company Bagh and Goal Market Gandhinagar Jammu, the Minister said that the workers are the builders of nation, who work tirelessly for raising infrastructure needed for the welfare of the people. He said Vishavakarma day remembers us of the work being done by the technocrats and other workers for constructing infrastructure required for all round development. Sharma said that government is committed to uphold and protect the services of these classes which they render for the well being of the state. He assured that all labour rules would be enforced in letter and spirit in the state adding that the government has also various steps for the welfare of workers. Responding to the demands of the employees of PHE, Silk Factory, JKPCC and other technical departments and corporations, the Minister assured them that their genuine demands would be mitigated at the earliest. He said that one and half day stipend and COLA for Corporation employees are under active consideration of the government. Meanwhile, speaker Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Tara Chand has reiterated the Government's resolve to provide all basic amenities to the people especially of border and far-flung areas of the State. He said that Government has been making constant efforts to uplift the socio-economic status of people living in rural areas for which the Government has launched various schemes. Tara Chand was addressing a large gathering of people at a function organized in Khour in connection with the celebrations of Vishwakarma Day today. While highlighting the importance of the Day Tara Chand said that Vishwakarma besides his unique expertise skills also preached the message of honesty, handwork and peace in the universe. The true homage to this great architect of ancient times is to follow his teachings in true spirits. People who are engaged in technical professions must adhere the principles of Vishwakarma and contribute for making the country stronger and prosperous, he added. In another function, the Vishwakarma day with full religious fervor was celebrated at Sri Shiv Durga Mandir at Resham Ghar Colony here today. Throughout the day Pooja and Kirtan was performed by the devotees, besides Prashad was distributed among the participants by the J&K Satyug Nirman Sanstha (SNS) (Labourcell) which organized the function. Sham Mehra provincial president of SNS, on the occasion said Bhagwan Vishwakarma was the architect of our nation and always guided the Labour class. Secretary general SNS, Suman Sharma, who was the chief guest appealed to the state govt that the private school be directed to reduce school fee in favour of labour children so that they too get better education. Among others who were present on the occasion were Romesh Lohar, Sushma Sawhney, Vinod Bhalla, Anita Jamwal. Meanwhile, Bhaujan Smaj Party also celebrated Vishwakarma day here today. |
