| Poonch TT: Gurvinder wins Sub-junior final | | | Early Times Reporter

Gurvinder Singh today clinched the sub-junior boys singles title beating Anupam Ghai in an interesting final (3-2) that lasted for complete five sets in the 17th Poonch District Table Tennis Championship underway at Degree College here.
Earlier, in the semi-finals, Gurvinder beat Amit 2-1 while Anupam outplayed Saransh Bali by two sets to one.
Gurvinder has also entered into the final of Junior boys and will take on Abhinav in the title clash tomorrow. In the semi-finals played today, Abhinav trounced Harshit 2-1 and Gurvinder beat Ishan again 2-1.
The veterans singles title went to Narinder Singh who beat Prof J S Vir in a close final 3-2. Earlier, in veteran semifinals, Narinder bet Jasbir Singh in straight sets while Prof Vir outplayed Tariq 2-1.
Meanwhile, organizing secretary of the tournament, Salil Raina told SAN that men’s singles and doubles matches shall start tomorrow. |
