| BJP’s minority morcha convention in Srinagar | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Nov 12 On his return from a day’s visit to Srinagar the president of the state unit of the BJP,Ashok Khajuria,said that he had asked the party’s district presidents to mobilize peoples’ support so that at least two seats were bagged by the BJP from the Kashmir valley in the next Assembly poll. Khajuria said that the activists of the BJP in Kashmir were enthusiastic and “I suggested to them that they should rake up the issue of exploitation of people by valley centric political leaders from time to time.” He said by now people in the valley had realized that they had been fully exploited by political leaders of various hues. In this context Khajuria said here today that some politicians had raised the slogan of demilitarization, others restoration of greater autonomy and yet others separation of Kashmir from the union of India. He said he has asked the party leaders to highlight the damage caused by this exploitation so that people supported the BJP. He assured the party leaders that the BJP would render assistance to the people of Kashmir once they voted for the party candidates. He said that the BJP unit in the valley had been dismayed by the postponement of the convention of party’s national minority morcha which was scheduled to be held in Srinagar in October. He said that he informed the party leaders in Srinagar that the Morcha convention will now be held in the state’s summer capital in March. |
