| Friendship series: VIT Rehari wins opening tie | | | Early Times Reporter

The VIT College Rehari won the opening match of the three-match friendship series beating Softlab Computers Gandhi Nagar by 13 runs at GGM Science College front ground, here today.
Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, VIT College lost all their wickets for 158 runs in 14.5 over of the 25 over match. Raja was top scorer with 32 runs while Arjun took three wickets for Softlab Computers.
In reply, Softlab Computers could not chase the total and bowled out for 145 runs in 24.3 overs. Arjun played nice innings of 44 runs. Rishi contributed 18 and Sukhu remained unbeaten at 20. Raja and Aman shared three wickets each.
Later, Raja was declared man of the match for his all round performance. In today’s match, Rajinder Singh Santa and Sukhchain Singh were umpires while Rajeev was the score.
The series is being organized by the proposed Roshni Cricket Academy with an aim to promote sports among the professional educational institutions of the city. |
