| Rs 45 lakh released for Talwara migrants | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Nov 22 On the instructions of Chief Minister, Rs. 45 lakh were released to Deputy Commissioner Reasi a week back to meet out the expenditure on account of relief/ration to the Jammu migrants including Talwara migrants for two months i.e (October and November, 2007). The process of distribution of relief to the genuine and verified migrants was taken up immediately by the Deputy Commissioner Reasi in close coordination with Relief Commissioner (Migrant) Jammu. In this connection so far 325 families have lifted the relief, ration and on this account Rs. 11 lakh as cash assistance including 240 quintals of atta, 50 quintals of rice and 5000 liters of kerosene have been disbursed to migrant families. The distribution process is in progress and so far more than 500 registration forms have been provided to the migrants for getting registered with the Relief Organization (Migrants). Meanwhile, the verified lists of migrants received from CID have been sent to other Deputy Commissioners with instructions to initiate the registration of migrants immediately and work out the financial implication on this account so that necessary funds are released to them for distribution of relief, ration to the genuine and verified migrants. |
