| Rs. 5 Cr to be spent on offices complex at Samba | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Nov 22 The Government has earmarked Rs 5 crore for construction of offices complex spread over 224 kanal of land at newly carved out district Samba. The project has been taken up by Jammu and Kashmir Police Housing Corporation (JKPHC). This was revealed at a high powered officers meeting held at Samba under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Samba B. S. Jamwal. The meeting held threadbare discussion on infrastructure development in the district besides the upcoming offices complex in the district. It was disclosed in the meeting that an integrated detail project report has been formulated for the construction of district offices and Rs 85 lakh have been made available for acquiring land for the purpose. Under phase-I, work on double lane approach road has been taken up and works relating to provision of water and power supply to project site for undertaking civil works are being taken up by early next month. Besides, priority will be given to the construction of Deputy Commissioner’s office and conference hall under phase-I, the meeting was told. Jamwal asked the concerned agencies to work in unison for speedy execution of this ambitious project so that the district administration under one roof at the proposed headquarter could be able to deliver justice to the needy in a coordinated manner. He also directed them to ensure use of quality material and timely completion of this important project so that the district administration could perform its duties to redress the grievances of the people of the district. Later, the District Development Commissioner along with Superintending and Executive Engineers of PWD, EM and RE and JKPHC and Chief Planning Officer Samba visited the construction site and inspected the status of ongoing works. |
