Sarwal Shootout: SHO stabbed, 3 criminals arrested
2 Revolvers, 5 Sharp edged weapons, 8 rounds recovered

The Station House Officer of Gandhi Nagar received a stab injury while a shoot-out took place between criminals and Police in Sarwal area late in the evening as police raided a house to arrest the criminals.
Station House Officer Gandhi Nagar Rafiq Manhas got injured when he was over powered by the criminals armed with country made revolver and sharp edged weapons in Sarwal.
Earlier people took the shoot out as a militant attack, however later police told them that it was a raid on criminals who were evading arrest since last few months.
Informed sources told News Agency of Kashmir that three criminals of R S Pura wanted by Gandhi Nagar Police in a case under section 307 and were evading arrest for the last few months.
"The criminals were living in a rented house for past over a month and had told landlord that they were studying in some Bed College", a police officer told NAK adding all the three were evading arrest for the last few months.
Acting on a tiff-off about the presence of criminals in a house at Sarwal, a police party headed by SHO Ghandi Nagar Rafiq Manhas raided a house. Sources said that soon after the police raid the house the criminals fired few shots in air, overpowered Manhas and stabbed him with sharp edged weapon.
Hearing the gunshots Sarwal police headed by SHO Arun Kotwal reached the spot and shifted the injured officer to hospital and arrested all the three criminals, who were later handed over to Gandhi Nagar police.
The accused have been identified as Sunny, Bawa and Kukka. Police also recovered 2 country made revolvers, five sharp edged weapons and eight rounds from their possession.
