| Press reporter, his accomplice arrested for cheating | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Nov 22 Crime Branch booked a Kashmir based press reporter working in a vernacular daily for beguiling the innocent people on the name of government jobs. According to report Crime Branch received a complaint from one Wali Mohd Wani resident of Chewa Kalan district Pulwama alleging therein that a press reporter namely Mohd Maqbool Qazimi has taken an amount of Rs 12 lakhs from him on the pretext to get his three persons appointed as Naib-Tehsildar/ BDO but neither the appointment was made nor the money was returned back. Sources said after receiving the complaint a preliminary enquiry was conducted into the matter and during the course of inquest it came to surface that complainant in league with the said reporter has collected rupees 16, 65000 from innocent persons with a promise to provide them government jobs. It also came to fore during investigation that the complainant in league with reporter were running a racket for cheating innocent people by collecting handsome amount to provide them employment. As per the enquiry conducted into the matter and available evidence on records a prima-facie case has been established against the accused persons. Accordingly a case under FIR No 53/2007 registered in police station Crime Branch Jammu for in-depth investigation. |
