| Saroori inaugurates Science exhibition | | | Early Times Reporter JAMMU | NOV 23 Chairman, J&K State Social Welfare Board and MLA Inderwal Mr. G. M. Saroori inaugurated Annual Science Exhibition organized by DIET Kishtwar today. Chief Education Officer, Doda, large number of students, teachers, prominent citizens and political leaders of the area attended the function. Large number of students from various educational institutions across the Kishtwar district took part in the exhibition in which Government High School, Sigdi, Kishtwar was adjudged the best. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Saroori impressed upon the young learners to take keen interest in the scientific activities and update their knowledge as science is playing key role in the over all development of global needs. He appreciated the steps taken by the learners in the present day needs of society. He impressed upon the Principal and Faculty Members of DIET, Kishtwar to monitor all the educational institutions falling under its purview to ensure all round development of student community especially the remote and far-flung areas. He said that education sector is under sharp focus of the government and significant efforts have been made in improving the quality of education in government institutions and added that need of the hour is for value based education which should refine the moral and intellectual level of the people. He also expressed concern over the forest fires which not only causes losses to the forest wealth but also causes pollution which leads to global warming. Saroori assured the DIEF Faculty as well as the gathering that the government under the stewardship of Ghulam Nabi Azad, is committed to take every necessary steps to improve the educational set up of the state. |
