| Village level training programme under ATMA held at Sartingal village | | | Early Times Reporter DODA | NOV 23 A village level training programme under Architect Technology Management Agency (ATMA) was organized by the Department of Agriculture at Sartingal village. About 45 farmers attended the camp besides Agriculture Officer Extension Doda, Subject Matter Specialist (DL), Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer were present. The farmers were imparted awareness about the scope and merits of ATMA. Speaking on the occasion, District Agriculture Officer Extension highlighted the basic concept of ATMA. He said that that it is a coordinated effort to give a boost to agriculture through joint and comprehensive planning. He explained threadbare the role of farmers in its implementation and invited their strong participation. Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer highlighted about the technical aspects of the programme. He spoke about the specialty of planning on specific Agriculture Ecological Situations AES-I to AES-V in the pre-trifurcated Doda district. The specific problems and needs of the situations and the necessary proposals made to boost the all round development in the field of agriculture and allied disciplines. He gave details of the peoples involvement in planning and implementation of different programmes under ATMA through the formation of Block Technology Teams (BTTs) and Farmers Advisory Committees (FSCs). The officers of other line departments of Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Co-Operative, Marketing and Planning involved in ATMA also spoke and gave the details of their programmes. They also interacted with the farmers in respect of their fields.
