| BJP to back Government if it enacts POTA-like law | | | Faizabad | Nov 24
BJP on Saturday said it would support the UPA Government if it enacts a stringent law on the lines of POTA to deal with terrorism in the country.
"The BJP will support the UPA Government in the Parliament if it enacts a law on the lines of POTA to curb terrorist activities in the country," party president Rajnath Singh told reporters in Faizabad.
The BJP chief, who arrived at Faizabad on Saturday morning, visited the blast site in the district court and also met the injured in the district hospital.
Singh attributed the spurt in the terrorist activities in the country to the "soft policies" adopted by the Centre towards terrorism.
Five persons were killed and 25 others injured in two blasts that had rocked the city on Friday. Four other blasts had taken place in Varanasi and Lucknow. |
