Despite no let up in hostile designs of neighbouring Pakistan, the Congress led UPA government is lowering the guards in the troubled Jammu and Kashmir by operating under pressures to save their coalition government which is proving more of a curse than any good to the people of this state as also for the national interests.
This was stated by the former Union Minister and a senior BJP leader, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta, while addressing a gathering at the border villages of Kaleeth in Chhamb sector bordering Pak-occupied Kashmir.
He said the infiltration bids were still going on, the infrastructure of cross border terrorism was intact, large amounts through Hawala and other channels were being pumped to have fresh recruitment of ultras and many trained terrorists including several of the foreign origins were making a hell of the life for innocent people especially in the remote areas. But instead of continuing the campaign for flushing out the armed terrorists, the troops are bring removed and the Village Defence Committees are being left high and dry by not providing them recognition as also the allowances to the SPOs.
The BJP leader ridiculed the claims the Ghulam Nabi Azad led government has rectified the regional disparities and alleged that political fraud being played with the people of Jammu still remains there as they have been denied due representation in the State Assembly as also in the services although Jammu was having more voters and almost double the geographical area. Jammu region has been given just 37 Assembly seats against 46 in Kashmir Valley.
He assailed the Congress leaders of Jammu for their extending strange arguments of two third majority in the Legislature to amend the Constitution and recalled that right from 1953 to 1975, these Congress men were having two third majority and they also owe an explanation that why they were not bringing necessary amendment in the assembly when the issue of appointing a Delimitation formed a part of the Minimum Programme of this coalition.
Hitting at the functioning of the coalition and their claims of ‘Vikas and Khushali’, Prof. Gupta said that the plight of the educational institutions, health centres, link roads coupled with the paucity of drinking water, electricity, rations at government depots and ever increasing unemployment well indicated that what type of Khushali has been there although Centre during this period have provided massive funds as per their own statement these amount to Rs. 24,000 crores. Where these funds have been spent with what results, he questioned and asserted that the prosperity of few ruling families, does not mean the Khushali of the common man.
He asked the people to realize their strength and get ousted this government of hypo crates and phsychopants of the dynastic Congress in the coming elections.
The BJP leader said that people of Kaleeth and other such areas deserve salute who demonstrated their patriotism and stood with armed forces to meet among onslaught of the enemy.
