Health awareness campaign concludes

JAMMU AUG-21- The 20-day long AWWA Family Health Awareness campaign launched by President AWWA Tiger Division concluded today. The aim of the campaign was to create health awareness amongst the families and children of the garrison.
Medicos from the Tiger Division carried out the health check up including ENT, Eye, Dental of all the ladies and children. A record number of 837 families were screened for breast and cervical cancer while 271 cervical smears were obtained for further screening of cervical cancer.
During the campaign vaccination program in children was also given a special boost and lectures on various topics including antenatal care, nutrition in pregnancy and lactation, breast- feeding, weaning, immunization and family planning with special emphasis on HIV/AIDS were given during the campaign.
In addition, a healthy baby -care competition and poster competition for families and children were also organized and attractive prizes awarded to winners and participants in various events.
