An inter-school debate contest was held at Alexander Memorial School, here today. The competition was sponsored by Youngman christian’s Association (YMCA) a unit of YMCA Chandigarh Shimla. The motion for the debate was ‘The End Justifies the Means’.
Two debaters each from Tiny Tots Higher Secondary School, Lawrence Public School, S.D. Tarapuri High School, Alexander Memorial School, J&K Police Public School, Army School Nagrota, RRL High School, New Era Environmental High school, participated in the contest D. Josephs, Principal, Delhi Public School was the Chief Guest and Arvind Noel, General Secretary YMCA Chandigrah, chaired the programme. Anuradha Bhasin Jamwal, Executive Director Kashmir Times and Dr. Vandana Sharma, Assistant Professor School of Languages, Shri Mata Vaisno Devi University, were the judges.
The Rolling trophy of the best team was won by the Army School, Nagrota and Runners up Trophy was won by Lawrence School, Medals and Certificates and Merit were given to Andleel Singh of Alexander Memorial School for being the best debater, to Rashika Saini of Army School Nagrota for being the second best debater and to Richa Abrol of Lawrence School being the most promising debater. |
