| SDP to fight for empowerment of women, employment guarantee to educated youth | | Soft talk with sunny | | JAMMU AUGUST-21
Empowerment of women in the country, employment guarantee to the educated unemployed youth and equitable development of all regions in the country especially in Jammu and Kashmir are the major issues before the Socialist Democratic Party (SDP). Saying this in an exclusive interview to EARLY TIMES here today the President of the party Darakshan Indrabi said that her party was totally against the cult of violence and strongly condemned the terrorist violence.
The excerpts of the interview are reproduced here.
When asked about the agenda and future program of the party, the party president said
SDP is a disciplined political party within the country and is expected to emerge as a substitute to the existing impotent, regionalist, dualistic and dishonest politics, which have been ruling, misguiding and exploiting the people of the country. SDP firmly believes in the regional equality within the country where economic development of the masses is the main priority. Deviating from the sloganeering and sentimentalist political approach, SDP believes that poverty and unemployment are the main issues and hence dedicated itself to help the people in solving these basic and burning issues. It also believes in scientific approach to tackle the problems, a guiding force for all activities.
ET: Your party is focusing particularly on the youth of the country. Comment?
DA: SDP wants the youth of India should come forward to lead the country. The political future of the country should be in the hands of decent, educated and dynamic youth so that the country’s future development is taken to new strides.
It am also striving that the women of India to get special opportunities of education, development and employment. SDP wants the Indian women to rise to the peaks of efficiency and economic development. SDP is a staunch supporter of women’s rights.
ET: Are you focusing only in of Jammu & Kashmir or broad basing your activities in other states also?
DA: Of course we are spreading our roots in neighbouring states, including Himachal Pradesh and Punjab in the beginning and the rest will follow the suit. I have myself visited Punjab many times and have addressed a number of public meetings at Amritsar, Muktsar, Wagha and other places. The response of the people was overwhelming. The party believes that employment guarantee for all youth should be the responsibility of the government and at the same time we are also against the terrorist violence and reject all kinds of separatists and semi- separatists elements with in the country.
