| LeT calls for election boycott in Poonch | | Outfit blames army for increasing fire incidents, criticizes HR Watchdogs | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Nov 26 Lashkar-e-Toiba, one of the dreaded militant outfits in Jammu and Kashmir, has asked the people of Poonch district to boycott ensuing bye-elections. In a statement LeT spokesman Dr Abdullah Gaznavi said that the elections are eyewash for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and people should reject all those political parties who have been projecting Indian ideology and entrusting its policies in the state.
"We request the people of the district to boycott the elections enlarge", he said adding, "We expect people to support the cause of Independence and respect the sacrifices laid down by Mujahideen for the just cause" Reacting to the increasing incidents of fire in residential houses in some parts of Kashmir Valley, Dr Gaznavi said that his outfit expresses full sympathies with the affected families. "We are sure that it is handiwork of army and its agents, who are resorting to deceitful means", he said adding, "We urge upon the human right watchdogs to inquire such incidents so that the fact can be brought before the world". "Government of India had asked the army and other security agencies to vacate school and hospital buildings but instead the army has was now bringing innocent Kashmir people on roads by setting their houses on fire", the spokesman alleged. He said that the silence of International community and human right organizations like Amnesty International and Asian Watch in this regard is unfortunate. "We urge people of the state to come forward and help their brethren who have been rendered homeless and are spending chilling days without roof on their head" |
