Hundreds of Power Development Department daily wagers today held a massive demonstration out side Divisional Commissioner's office in support of their demand of early regularization.
The daily wagers protesting under the banner of Central Non- Gazetted Electrical Employees Union were raising anti government slogans.
The protestors observed a sit in for several hours where speakers highlighted the demands of the non gazetted employees, particularly those of daily rated wagers. They warned that the PDD employees would launch an indefinite agitation if government failed to absorb the daily wagers who were working in the department for several years and also demanded absorption of all daily wagers as maintenance and ruining staff for newly commissioned Receiving and Grid stations as were done in 1985. |
