| House Committee on Estimates meets | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Nov 26 House Committee on Estimates held a meeting in Assembly Lobby here today under the chairmanship of MLA Ghulam Hassan Khan and reviewed the functioning of Estates Department. Among others who attended the meeting include legislators Sharief ud- Din Sharik, Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din, Shanti Devi, Nizam-ud-Din Bhat, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Anil Goswami, Director Estates, B.A. Runiyal and other officers of estates department. The meeting at length deliberated upon various issues with regard to leasing out land to estate department for construction of government quarters in the state. The meeting was informed that 250 kanals of custodian land at Sonawar Srinagar are being leased out to Estates Department for construction of residential quarters for government employees. Chairman asked the authorities of estates department to come up with a comprehensive policy for utilization and maintenance of assets being created by the department and ensure early completion of under execution projects taken up. The Chairman also impressed upon them to create maximum housing facilities for employees. He also instructed the concerned agencies for immediate completion of the projects taken up and the repair work of government quarters of Top- Sherkhanian, Janipur and other places at Jammu and improve the supply of drinking water facilities. |
