| Charak takes stock on several ongoing road projects | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Nov 26 Stressing upon the engineers to ensure use of quality material in the execution of developmental projects, Minister for Roads and Buildings Gulchain Singh Charak today said that the better road connectivity was the basic ingredient for economic growth both at state and national level. This, he said, while taking stock of pace of work of 17 km long Janipura-Ambgrota double lane road being upgraded at a cost of Rs.7.29 crore under Central Road Funding Scheme. During the inspection, Minister was informed that about 13 km road length stands completed and remaining would be completed within a month after completion of all codal formalities. Later, the Minister also inspected the pace of work of 6.50 km long Bari-Brahamana-Bishnah double lane road which is being constructed and upgraded by ERA under ADB funding. The foundation of the road was recently laid by the Chief Minister. He directed the Chief Engineer ERA to speed up the pace of work and also ensure use of quality material under the norms of ADB. He asked the ERA authorities that the road should be completed in all respects before April, 2008. |
