Kathua | Nov 27: Varinder Singh of Higher Secondary School Mahanpur clinched the under-14 year age group sprint gold in the ongoing inter-school athletics meet at Police Lines tracks here today.
Varinder touched the finish line clocking 0.13 seconds. He was followed by Prince (0.13.40 seconds) of Infant Jesus School Hiranagar while Aslam Mohd (0.13.43 seconds) of High School Mandyal finished third.
Earlier, the week-long competitions were declared open by the Minister of State for Sports, Babu Singh, who was chief guest in the opening function.
