| VO raids several premises of forest official | | ‘Possesses assets disproportionate to legitimate source of income’ | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Nov 27 Prima facie establishment of possessing assets disproportionate to the known source of income, the State Vigilance Organization sleuths today conducted search operations of various premises belonging to Shabir Ahmed Risher, Accountant in the office of Divisional Forest Officer Doda. Following registration of a case against the alleged accused for accumulating huge assets both moveable and immovable disproportionate to his legitimate source of income the VO today raided several premises of the employee at different places. A verification conducted by Organization has revealed that Shabir Ahmad Risher has raised assets in the shape of movable and immovable property which include a three storey building with four shops on the ground floor at Bhalla on Doda-Bhaderwah Road, a single storey residential house at Bhalla, Doda, a double storey building with two shops on ground floor at Bhalla, Doda, another three storied building at Bhalla housing a Flour Mill (Atta Chakki) and a Poultry Unit , Three Kanals of land at village Bhalla Doda, a Maruti Car No. 3294-JK02N and a Mahindra Load Carrier bearing registration No. 919-JK06. Both the vehicles are registered in the name of his wife who has no independent income. Besides, the said Accountant is also reported to have acquired properties at Nagri, Doda and Vidhata Nagar, Bathindi, Jammu under Benami transactions. He is also having costly household articles, electric and electronic items and Jewellery etc. It is prima-facie established that Shabir Ahmad has acquired these disproportionate assets by indulging in corrupt practices and misusing his official position. Case FIR No.25/2007 U/S 5(1) (e) r/w 5(2) P.C. Act Svt.2006 P/S VOJ has been registered and investigation taken up. SVO officials today conducted house searches of various premises belonging to Shabir Ahmed Risher which were still in progress when the last reports came in. |
