| Accused evading arrest apprehended | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Nov 27 City Sub Division Police apprehended an accused, who was evading his arrest for the last some months, in a case at Miran Sahib police station. According to reports some month back, Miran Sahib police on a specific information raided a house at Simbal camp area and recovered large quantity of bhuki and weapons from the house but the owner of the house managed to flee from the spot. Police then arrested the wife of the owner namely Kamaljeet Kour and registered a case in this regard and started investigating the matter and also launched a hunt to nab the accused. SDPO City, Swantantar Arora, said last night police received specific information that one person was wandering in the area under suspicious circumstances and accordingly a police team raided the spot and picked him up and later took him to police station for further verification. Sources said during the interrogation the arrested person showed his identity as Virinder Singh alias ‘Whisky’ son of Bachan Singh resident of Simbal Camp. During interrogation, police found out that he was a drug peddler and was wanted in a case at police station Miran Sahib. Sources said later City police contacted their counterparts at Miran Sahib and today morning he was handed over to the police for further verification. |
