| Infiltration bid foiled, 1 LeT militant killed, another trapped | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Nov 28 Security forces claimed to have foiled an infiltration bid and gunned down a militant of Lashker-e-Toiba in Sunderbani area of Jammu and Kashmir's border district Rajouri, where fierce encounter was going on between army and another hiding militant. Sources told News Agency of Kashmir that troops of 18 JAKLI posted along LoC at Dadal Post of Sunderbani found some moment of militants during the wee hours today. Troops immediately laid ambush and challenged the infiltrating militants, sources said adding, while the two militants were trapped in the ambush their associates managed to cross back to Pakistan side. Sources added that the two sides exchange heavy fire for more than four hours in which one militant was killed. "Encounter was going on between the two sides as one more militant was hiding in the area", they said. Defence spokesman Lt Col Goswami told NAK that two militants were trapped and one of them has been killed by the troops of 18 JAKLI. "The body of slain militant was lying in mine fields while another militant was hiding" Goswami told that adding that soon after the encounter is over the body would be removed from the minefield. |
